Schoenhof's
Immense selection of foreign language books. The interface is not entirely suited to browse around for books (more like a library catalogue), but if you know what you are looking for you're more likely to find it here than anywhere else.

Links in French

FSL Activities: here is a French teacher in British Columbia who has generously developed this phenomenal website full of encouragement, tips and inspiration. Includes printable games for teachers or parents to play with their kids. Much of this would be equally appropriate for older kids learning French as a second language. Make sure you check out his links pages.

French kids’ sites: great portal with links to 27 different French language kids' sites, including Caillou and Bob the Builder.

Pouletfrites: great site with songs, games, stories, interactive ABC’s organized per age group.

Tom de Bois: children can watch and listen to animated stories, for children 3-6 years old.

Fairy Tales: classic Grimm fairy tales, with animations and games.

CASLT: the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers has a page dedicated to the needs of children learning French which offers links to sites that help teachers integrate music into their lessons. Also great for parents. Links will take you to karaoke, sheet music, words to songs, links to popular websites (Caillou for example), games, etc.

Adodoc -- Apprendre le français en s’amusant: this site allows young people who already speak french as a second or foreign language to improve their skills. It can be used in class with the assistance of a teacher or also in the home for individual study. Geared at pre-adolescents and adolescents. Chouette!.

Paroles: look up the words to thousands of French songs.

FrenchCulture.org: interesting info including summer camps and language camps in France.

Child Care: French au-pair resource. Other au-pair agencies are listed here.

Livres Recommandés: a reading list for children 4-5 years old, by the outstanding school Lycée Franco-Américain.

House exchange: why not consider a house exchange with a family from a francophone country or area?
